To POST or not to POST that is the question?

At least thats what the GFs box is saying. It's a weird one tbh, a month or two back her radeon 9800 pro went mr boom bastic - marks around the mollenux suggested that the gfx had actually gone.

Replaced the card, all works well for 2 months then no post. Then a post, then no post. Different working gfx card, post, no post, post.......?!??

I'm thinking the CPU?

Have you checked the PSU? Maybe try another one if you have a spare one lying around.
