I've been trying to revise for the past couple of hours but nothing is going in and i cant concentrate so i might redo the cabling in my rig. Any pointers you can give besides CABLE TIES? :p
So how many of you how have a nice and neat rig? I have seen many that may as well be a bowl of spagetti :p

currently working on my p182.

being as you've got a haf in your spec you should have no problems :D

aside from cable ties check to see if routing may be better if you have extension cables for some of the psu leads.

Oddly enough, i had to replace all my case fans in my ageing Praetorian last night with silent ones.

I've never concerned myself with cable tidying before as i've always used the technique of find a bit of case and strap a wire to it. So i thought i would take my time and give it a go as i had the case in total bits...

The conclusion i came to is, one that i'm still pants at cable tidying, two that you need a modern case with holes in the mobo tray for the wires to feed into - or you have to be prepared to cut the holes yourself. I think if i had gone to the effort of cutting some holes in the mobo tray i could have achieved the OCD look i was after.

So my very limited advice is: get a case with dedicated holes for your wires to fit through neatly or, if you have an ageing case like mine, plan where your cables are going to come out and cut some holes in the mobo tray accordingly and feed the wires beneath the tray and have them come out of their respective hole...

Or, do what I did, and do just a slightly better job than you did before and hide all the cables you don't use in the side panel gap and the slack of the ones you do use in the bays that are empty. ;)

Good luck - i hope you do a better job than i.

Extension cables really help.

If you have to route something around the motherboard, try to tuck it in against the side of the board. If not, try to route it round the side of the case.

Use any space you can - if it's not got a drive in it, put cables in it!

If the cables reach, then definitely tuck them behind the motherboard tray. If not, run them up the side of the motherboard. Neatly routed cables in a case look great.

:D

Hadn't thought about this, i think i will go about my cable management later tonight.

I will put some pictures up tonight or tomorrow when im done :D

It doesn't make it look as good as other solutions, but it helps. To a casual observer it mingles with the board, and is straighter - rather than being a seperate messy line which catches the eye

Straight lines look tidy :-)
