To replace or not to replace...

So, not long ago got 55bx to replace my ips Sony 55 - which was moved to my bedroom for gaming.

Love the 55bx. Not a single complaint about it and loved the pq.

Partly regretting not getting 65 inch, and hating moving back to the ips for gaming, i decided to get the 65bx so the 55 could go to bedroom and the ips screen could go.

Initially very pleased with the 65bx. I learned a long time ago not to go looking for issues - if a tv doesn't have a problem in normal use, then all ia good

But... First time noticed something was watching Queens gambit. Something strange in the shadows. Ignored it at first, but noticed more.

So went to Google - vertical banding on dark greys. Spans the width of the acreen. Especially one particular brighter band on left.

Now, i don't notice it in most things. But bly Manor was showing it terribly too (rubbish anyway, but not the point) and have seen it on a few otherwise things.

Now i read that it can improve with time. I am sure i am well, well over 100 hours, have run pixel refresher a couple of times, but nothing improved it.

I hate going through rigmarole of exchanges, but not sure if will be able to train myself to ignore this. I went oled so i could start not hating dark content again.

I did buy from John Lewis, because i always believed their customer service to be top - but i think they may have gone downhill a bit..

Depends how bad of it BUT vertical banding is perfectly normal on modern OLEDs and can come on go depending on use. On mine you can clearly sometimes see the banding when its just a blank screen but zero observable zones when watching any content.

If there is a scuffed area thats clearly visible when watching actual content then the panel might be trash.

Now that i have become aware of the banding, i have discovered its widespread on oled - particularly those above 55.

If it was only visible on a solid grey picture, i probably wouldn't have ever noticed. But it's in content i noticed it.

But as I mentioned above, it is hardly ever visible.

And while it's across the entirety of the screen in thick bands, there is one particular slightly brighter band 2/3 of the way from left that stands out most.

Just need figure out if worth hassle of trying for replacement - what if that is worse?

On the other hand, for a 65 inch oled for £1500, do i just try and live with it?

Honestly the chance of getting it replaced is probably zero . LG will claim that its within standard display tolerances and yeh no guarantee you will end up with a better TV even if they did replace it.

Well, i was thinking more of getting it replaced by john Lewis. Only couple of weeks since purchase.

Just so annoying

Have decided not to bother with replacing

If I had to guess, I'd say something less than 1% of the time is noticeable.

And for some reason mostly netflix stuff have seen it.
I have intentionally watching lots of dark content and it's really not coming up much
