To SLI or Not to SLI?

Hey folks

Have just upgraded my machine to an XFX 750i mb running an Intel q6600 and 4gb RAM, am about to get a 22" monitor, and am looking to upgrade the gfx card and was wondering about SLI, mainly as I have the option now. I'll be on a budget of about £100ish so what do we reckon, SLI 2 budget cards or run one £100 one?

Either way, what cards would people recommend?

Run one £100 card - Radeon 4850? SLi on budget cards is rubbish unless they're 9600GTs.

Never buy 2 budget cards at the same time with the intent to SLI, 1 £100 card will give you less hassle and (usually with good card choice) better performance.

Cheers guys, have never dabbled with SLI before. What do people recommend for around the £100 mark? Like the idea of going SLI in the future so maybe nvidia?

Currently have an ATI x1600 pro at the moment.

get a 8800gtx now, the whe you have like another £90 get another to sli them up

Radeon 4850 tbh mate. They're about £120ish.

For the equivalent performance from Nvidia, you're looking at a GeForce 9800GTX+, but all the cheap ones seem to be out of stock @ OCUK.
