Just though i would give this a try as the results seem very good... but with my system the picture becomes shockingly bad when using FFDshow.. the picture is about 100% worse than a normal dvd..

I cant find what im doing wrong.. I followed this guide to set it up..
http://www.htpcnews.com/main.php?id=ffdshowdvd_1

my pc is not the best but i would have thought ffd show would make a slight improvement not make it worse: xp 2500 barton 512 ram and radeon 9700

i also get a horrible vertical line on the right hand side of the pic that will not go away..

Any help would be good and i would like to get the best out of ffdshow

Edit: on that site if you hover over the pic thats what FFDShow can do but it seems with my pc it goes from the good pic to the bad.. thats how much the quality reduces when using it.

Cheers

I have a feeling your pc is not man enough for the job, some people reccomend atleast a p4 3ghz and 1gb ram.

My barton used to struggle badly playing TS files, but my p4m 1.7 laptop used to play them fine, my p4 3.2 has no issues at all either.

You're not powerful enough for all the processing options, turn them off and just use resize then use the nvidia codec with it.
