Is it really worth it, I mean over one single monitor? For the outlay.

Also, is Nvidia 3d that good and worth the outlay?

would 2 x GTX 480's happily power 3 monitors and 3d at good FPS in most games?

GTX 480's They would power your 3 monitors easy, not sure how much more power is needed for 3d use in games, as for the Triple monitor setup i have 3x Hanns G 27.5" monitors running on 2x xfx5850’s and I wouldn’t go back to 1 screen ever, its just much more realistic in FPS games, as I play Battlefield 2 lots it makes a big difference.. You feel like your in the game.. :)

Don't the 3 frames (Black bit) annoy you as theres a bit missing in the game because of it? and is a 4th monitor possible for msn/skype etc?

Not just for game, but multi monitor rocks for working where you require multi-screens.

At home I have 3x19" screens on a Ergotron lift and tilt. I can have development code over all 3 screens.

I have a similar setup at work also, would never go back even to just 2 screens.

I've been running 3 Dell 2407s for less than a week and couldn't go back - in terms of desktop workspace (5760x1200) it's fantastic and gaming (Homefront ATM) does take some getting used to - position and angle of screens, FOV etc but once you settle in you really are immersed and the bezels are very soon not noticed

Extended desktop over the centre and right hand side screen and works lappy (on a VGA Connection) on the left hand screen

3 Monitors are great to use. great for gaming you dont realise how much your missing when you run them over 3. Also great for multi tasking used to hate having to have windows stacked side by side now i can have them on what monitor i want. You can watch a film and heep progress on downloads or web page. Recommend to anyone. Just dont try gaming on 2 monitors unless you like the look of a thick black line down the middle.

Oh im also using display fusion for when im not running them in eyefinity and it now has the start button, taskbar and time on all 3 screens. Plus its great for managing screen savers and wallpapers, screensavers look great on 3 screens.
