To upgrade or not to upgrade?

Hi guys, hope you had a good Christmas!

I have been given a £300 voucher for a university stationary store, which sells some electronics.
Their range is very limited when it comes to electronics. Going through their range of PC components, I came across the MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 GAMING 4GB Graphics card.

Now the question is, would it be worth it to upgrade to the card above with my ancient rig? (specs are in my signature). I've had the 570 since launch and I can still play most games at medium/low.

£299 is their price. I have noticed that everything is overpriced on there.

then that price isn't too bad.

Yep, that's the exact same one. Would I benefit from this upgrade?
I'm thinking of building a new rig in summer, hopefully.

Thanks guys, been out of the loop for a while now.
The voucher doesn't expire until May, is it worth picking up the card now or is there anything new coming out from Nvidia any time soon?


EDIT: Also forgot to mention, at the moment I am gaming on 1680 x 1050 resolution due to the size of my monitor (told you my rig is ancient )

Thanks guys, I think I will go ahead and put an order in. I can always sell it on now when it's still new and get one at a cheaper price if I change my mind by the time it gets delivered.
