To upgrade or not

Hello everyone.
I hope I am posting in the right forum?. At the moment I have an Asrock extreme 6 z77 motherboard and I find the onboard sound rubbish, could someone please spec me a new board with good onboard sound for gaming I am using i7 3770k cpu, Or maybe get a sound amp like the Fiio Olympus E10 Headphone Amp & DAC. I use the Sennhieser HD 595 headphones. thankyou
 
You will have a hard time trying to find a decent board with good onboard sound these days as the socket was killed off quite a while ago now. Even if you do find one they have been going for outrageous prices. Your best bet would be to go down the route that you are thinking of or get a soundcard. The Asus Xonar DGX 5.1 has a built in headphone amp and at £30 is good value. The Creative Soundblaster Z is a excellent card although much more expensive. I have the oem version and the only difference is that it doesn't have the red cover and very bright red led or the soundbeam mic.
