Toast DVD Creation - PAL/NTSC?

so i created a disk with Toast 8, and the quality was good, then created the same disk in Toast 10 (upgraded due to wanting widescreen menus) and the video quality isn't as good (quite a big difference actually...)

now the only thing i noticed that could be different is that before burning it said the files are NTSC would you like to convert to PAL, toast 8 didn't ask me this so would it have just burned NTSC and that conversion is where i've lost the quality in 10?

if it did indeed do NTSC i didn't notice anything when playing the original version 8 dvd on the ps3

any ideas?

I don't think PAL and NTSC define the resolution/quality of the burned product.

Are there any other quality settings? Did you shoot the original material in 16:9?

yeah the original material is 16:9 - i then encoded it to XVID for storage (and overwrote the original digi-tape) but wanted to convert to dvd to show someone...
