Tobii Experience app keeps crashing

Hi everyone, I have a Legion 5 Pro and it came with Tobii Experience installed from Lenovo. I don't actively use Tobii devices, but I note that in reliability history whenever starting up my laptop there are 'Critical Events' from 'Tobii Eye Tracking Portal' where it stopped working.

I loaded Tobii Experience app and it said there was an error.

I checked services.msc and I can see the Tobii Service and Tobii Runtime Service both set to running - automatic

I decided to go to Apps and Features on Windows 11 and reset the Tobii Experience app only.

Good news, the errors in reliability history have now gone.

I just wanted to check that by resetting the app I haven't affected the services.msc Tobii Service and Tobii Runtime Service mentioned above?

Do I need to reset the laptop? I'm worried about what I did as a few years ago this happened and I uninstalled the app and then everytime I turned on the laptop a popup it said it was missing Tobii.Exe and couldn't load.

Finally, I note on the list of startup programmes I have 'Tobii Experience SW Background Launcher' enabled, do I need this enabled at startup - what does it do?

Many thanks

It's fine, if there are no more errors then you pretty much fixed the issue. As for the startup, a quick search apparently this needs to be enabled for the services to run properly.

Every thread you make seems to somehow end up with you asking if you need to reset . No, you don't. I think you're worrying too much most of the time.

Okay, thanks. Yes it sure does. I’m Autistic and worry all the time about technology, sometimes I think it might be easier to give up tech! Thanks anyway.

It's fine, in fact it's better to ask, otherwise how else will you learn. Sorry if it came out a little rude, just wanted to give you a little confidence on what you're doing. It's pretty hard to break the OS these days.

No that’s fine, I have hardly any confidence and know I ruminate and worry over what must be small things! Thanks so much.

Don’t beat yourself up over it. I can’t go to sleep at night unless the left curtain overlaps the the right when closed - and I’m 48!! :p So you ain’t on your own having a brain that likes to take the pee sometimes.

Yeah don't worry mate
There's no stupid questions
Only if you don't know something
But won't ask is it stupid

The guys in here
They will get used to you after a bit
Like when they first saw
My weird typing style
I took a few jokes and even a few nasty comments
About it
But after a while they got used to it
And nowadays rarely gets mentioned anymore
And if it does in a nasty way
The guys in here stick up for me

So keep asking if you need to know stuff
The majority of people in here are great
And it's a very good forum
Not just for the technology section
There's loads of other sections too

Eventually you will gain confidence
And there will come a day
Where stuff you learned you will be able
To help someone else with it
Which will only help to increase your confidence

Oh I don't know about that
I manage to break it on a very regular basis
That's just how I learn things
Break it to find out how to fix it
Of course I have loads of image backups
Just in case I break it beyond repair

Thank you so much for your kindness. I'm sorry that people have made nasty comments to you, that's awful.

I'm glad the majority of the guys stick up for you. :)

Cheers buddy.
