Today I left OcUK

Hi Guys

Today has been a mixed bag of emotions.
After 7 years and 7 months I have left OcUK.
After all this time and being a forum member long before I worked here, this is a big lifestyle change for me.

I have seen the move to us being owned by Caseking, changed from being the technical manager to being a product manager.

With the exception of working in the warehouse, I have pretty much done everything there is at ocuk.

For me the change in the attitude towards customer service has been the biggest factor. Working in an era where OcUK could disappoint a customer was tough, but seeing the company change to be totally focussed on customers was a huge bonus for me. It made the job a lot more exciting.

Honestly, I will miss being an OcUK staff member. Every single person who works here puts every ounce of their passion into making OcUK what it is.

Working next to people like Gibbo and 5UB who put every ounce of passion they have into the job really pushes you to do the same.

Most of all, I will miss the responses from you guys. The OcUK forums got me my job and gained me my credentials. I love posting here because the community is second to none. Every single person here makes this place as exciting and vibrant as it is.

I will still be around here as much as possible.

Hope you enjoyed the 'leaving OcUK' food I brought into the office this morning for you.

Strange feeling leaving after such a long time, was for me. I'm lucky that I still visit often, hopefully you can do the same :)
 
Where are you going to RJK? Does that mean you'll remove my brownie point from my user profile before you go? ;)
 
Oh Mike you're in serious trouble now!

I'm moving to a distributor called Exertis. 'The largest company you've never heard of'. My new role is as a product specialist so hopefully not too different to my ocuk role but focussed instead on enterprise solutions rather than enthusiast cooling and peripherals.

Everyone at ocuk has been enormously supportive of the move which is more than I could have asked for.

No. We use skype. Or words IRL.

Mike, a castle oatcakes combo special is the furthest away from healthy you can be!!!
 
all the best to you mate but do you still have them pictures we took of you, gibbo and 5ub together in that pool? it was a laugh though wasn't it, i couldn't believe it either damn!
It was nuts all nuts, that reminds me i have to plant that sprig.

I had to google it! Oatcakes sounded like some sort of health box snack! Second link comes back to ocuk so perhaps you should get a referral fee on that ;)
 
Every time I have moved away from Stoke, oatcakes haven't played a large factor in my return. If you have tried them then poveys oatcakes, you can mail order them.

Castle oatcakes are the mac daddies though. Everyone at ocuk will agree.
 
Rich, you know how much you have I appreciated you at OcUK. I can honestly say without you holding my hand through my first build I wouldn't be having so much fun with building rigs now. I simply wouldn't be doing it.

I heard you were leaving and tbh I'm gutted. You have always done well by not just me but thousands of others too and it is always a bit of a kicker when someone leaves. Hopefully you will do just as well at your new role.
