Today, is my driving test...

Well done! 8 minors doesn't sound insubstantial though? I'm not even sure we had minors when I took my test, what does it mean exactly and how many can you rake up and still pass?

i think you can have 16 minor faults? Took my test a while back so not sure if its still the same.

1 serious fault and you fail on the spot

From what I remember, 3 (or 4?) minor faults in one specific area constitutes a fail; if the minors were spread out then it's up to 15 or 16.

Congrats, the test centre in crewe is a nightmare, so many of my friends have failed having done the whole test and messing up within 500 yards of the test centre! :p

well done man! now the real test begins. i actually passed mine at 22, i did it for myself, and my little girl. i had an examiner who was on his first day on the job, and it was late afternoon. . i think he just wanted to get the hhell out of there as he didn't seem to be taking much attention. he also gave me a little advice on a couple of occasions.

Best of luck to you too GreatAuk. :)

Cheers, but unfortunately, I think I may have gained possibly the quickest fail known to man -
The feeling of starting the engine, releasing the handbrake, and then rolling helplessly backwards is utterly crushing and disappointing.
The worst thing was that the rest of the test went great, so if I hadn't done that right at the start (I have started the car many many times and NEVER done this), I would have passed. :( But oh well, next time I'll be less nervous and hopefully do better :)

Heh, I remember my test, the examiner said if you can please open the bonnet.

Cue me panicking, being nervous as hell, and forgetting where the release catch was. Luckily he helped me out - bet it happens a lot! Passed too (2 miners, and a dog).
