I wasn't even aware the 2550K existed until I saw this deal. But looks like a bargain all the same.

I suppose if you needed the onboard then yes but why have an unlocked chip and use integrated, surely the other 2400 etc would then be the budget option.

Anyone found reviews on what the chip can do compared to the 2500k?

What the real difference between i5 2500k and i5 2550k ? Ah, no longer onboard graphic. Fair point. Maybe i7 2750K next (no onboard graphic) ?

Faulty gpu on the 2500k so sell them as the 2550k perhaps? Currently using the onboard on my 2500K as I am without a dedicated card at the mo. Onbaord does come in handy..

I'm currently using on board to until I figure out which graphics card to buy. Its also useful to have for troubleshooting if u have problems with ur dedicated.

The lack of GPU also disables Quick Sync, TBH you're better off with the 2500k.

I can't see it overclocking a whole lot more if anything than a 2500k, seems wrong to pay more for less. Apart from the increased clock speed but 9/10 overclock them anyway.

Surely they're just trying to squeeze abit more out of the 2x00k chips?

Any 2500k could reach 3.4 - 99.9% I'd say could easily reach 4.0, so really they're just clocking them slightly higher and removing/using dead integrated graphics chips?

Kudos to intel, they'll sell loads.

Can you not read? Today Only 09/02/2011!
Funnily enough I can, and it was on 'offer' at the stated £173.99 which was said to be reduced, then after the 'today only' it was that price anyway.

EDIT i'm being a goon and noticed one was OEM and one was retail, apologies. :p
