whats the verdict on swapping my 6870 for a 7850?

looking at anandtech benchmarks theres big increases in some games but small in others. increases all round though.

ah looks like the amount of ram is a limiting factor!
 
If the choice is between buying a 6870 and a 7850 1GB, as they are both similar money, i would definitely pick the 7850.

If you already have a 6870, it doesn't seem like major upgrade (hence similar pricing), but they do overclock well
 
Currently running a 6870 myself and am pondering the move to a 7850 but think I would go for a 2GB version.

Cracking price on that 1GB version, would be a cheap upgrade after selling the 6870 and it looks smaller and uses less power.
 
That 7850 is the best value for money on a GPU that I've ever seen, overclocked they're stupidly fast.
You're talking like GTX580 performance for 120 quid when you've clocked its balls off.
