How tempted am I by the crucial ssd :p I allready have the 128GB version, finding it a little on the small side

Nice price on the 6850. I'm hoping to see them dropping a bit further soon though. Wouldn't mind grabbing a pair for Xfire.

How does a 6850 fair vs a 4890 2gb?

This bench shows the 6850 vs 4870, for some reason cant see the 4890.

The 4890 is about 10-15% faster then the 4870, (I could be wrong its been awhile since looking at these cards), the 10-15% improvement would be at stock. If you look at the 4870 figures then make an estimate of the figures that would be produced by the 4890 that should give you a rough idea.

I would see it as a side-grade and not a upgrade from a 4890, it would be an improvement but not by enough to replace a 4890 2gb imho. If it was not a upgrade and just a choice between the 2 cards then it would be the 6850, for a bit more grunt at a realistic res, plus better directx support.
