Would it be worth waiting and getting an Extreme series SSD for my system? Or should I just jump on this Ultra? What would the performance difference feel like on my system between the two bearing in mind my mobo is SATA 2?

If the extreme series is faster then you won't benefit much from the extra performance. SATA2 maxes out at 280MB/s.

I bought my SSD at such a bad time a few months ago, how annoying. The thought of a 120gb ssd in my laptop is tempting though.

How do you go about doing that though? I have a 1TB hard drive in my laptop so I don't really want to replace that, would I have to take the dvd drive out?

It depends on your laptop, I'm very tempted to pick up a 256gb SSD for my laptop and stick the current hard drive in a portable enclosure.

That's SSD is good deal for laptop as many laptop don't use Sata III only Sata II. So, these SSD will be good on laptop. But 120GB might not be enough after installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and all drivers & online updated approx use of closer 28GB and leave you around 82GB for applications and storages (after formatted SSD will reduce to 111GB from 120GB)

samdisk ultra is a fine choice for sata 3gps connection ie older board but not if you have sata 6gbps connections available.

see storagereview for a review of the ultra drive @3gbps and some other drives specced at 6 but tested at 3 and 6gbps. Getting a 6gbps drive 9extreme) and putting it on a 3gbps mobo would be a waste.

PS I find 120 gb is fine for win 7 and applications (office) etc few steam games, bung media fiels on a decent hdd
