Can you tell us when the 6870 VTYX was ever £136? It was 109 at launch and then went up to 119 which is what it's at now but I can't recall it being 136. When?

typical, bought a msi 6850 cyclone on saturday and now this appears today lol, though im very happy with my 6850 but not to find it has been a return i suspect as the disc is scratched and the crossfire bridge is missing, could return it if i wasn't prepared to have the hassle of sending it back and waiting for a new one to be sent that hasn't been in someone elses hands, it's the 2nd product i've bought from clockers that has clearly been bought buy someone else, thinking i will go elsewhere next time

Surely you're not putting the price up for a week, just to lower it and claim an even bigger discount when in fact it's the price it always has been, apart from last week? Poor form if that's true!

Every other company do it?
Next time you see an Asda/ Morrions/ Tesco/ etc... advert promoting an item, you'll notice a little note at the bottom of the screen when it says the price...for exmaple "Old price of £140.00 between 1/10/2011 and 13/10/2011"

Doesn't make it any more of a bargain. It's a cheap marketing ploy that just masks any genuine deals that come along.
If I see an item that is marked as being reduced in price then the fact that the price was artificially raised the week before hardly makes it a bargain does it?

I'd hoped OcUK were above such flimsy shenanigans.

Whilst this may be true

This is more what i was aiming at.

Nope prices went up in general as in rebuy cost up so prices up. As it turns out were down to our last 30 or so units so we've just decided to blast them out as we shall not be getting any more of the ocuk models for a while so focus will shift to the his and sapphire models.

In general in the IT industry prices can change hourly though, but we do try to hold prices for a reasonable amount of time.

Saying that though we have not sold this 6870 for £99.99 +vat as it is now for over a month and these go back up tomorrow 9am with only a handful left so no more specials.
