Dominator memory supports the Intel XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) standard, and each module is individually factory-programmed with an XMP profile indicating supported timing, frequency and voltages. Just enable XMP on your compatible motherboard and you’ll automatically get optimized memory overclocking without having to deal with multiple BIOS settings. Of course, if you’re an experienced overclocker, you can always adjust the settings on your own to push for even higher overclocking performance.

State-of-the-art cooling efficiency is essential for high-performance memory. Our DHX+ technology uses specially designed, high-quality heatsinks and a custom-designed PCB that cools the front and rear of the DRAM chips as well as the printed circuit board itself.

Your performance investment is protected. All of our memory products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

A couple of 6970s for the price a single 7970 and it features quiet custom cooling which really makes a difference over reference design - 10c drop in temps with proof here.
Quite temping for 1.5~2 times the performance in CF of a single 580 (depending on your game of choice). This is the lowest price I found as OcUK is £5 cheaper than the nearest competitor.

Would I see a decent performance jump in going from my CF5770s to one of these cards?

Define decent. A 6970 isn't that much faster then a 5870 (look at the reviews) which is what 5770's in xfire equates to but it should give you a smoother gameplay experiance. If you happy with you current setup and you along with crossfire then I would stick with what you have and maybe upgrade to 7770 in crossfire when the time comes.

Well it handles BF3 on high, with textures on ultra. However when there's a lot going on or very large servers the FPS can dip dramatically and makes it annoying. It's usually fine but can get irritating.

Well this feels like a kick in the nuts:eek:

Bought 16gb of that RAM except 1600mhz for £160

Good deal :D

For those that missed out, the Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) x2 is yours for £119.98. The default 1.5 volts is easy to obtain for Sandy Bridge motherboards, but may need raising on other types.

As for compatibility, RAM GUY said:
Vengeance modules are made for and tested on Intel Sandy Bridge chipsets and yes the cost of high density memory IC has dropped dramatically in the lest 6 months, however, not all chipsets will support high density memory like what is used on our vengeance modules. They will run at DDR1600 at 1.5 Volts on most MB's but when used on other Chipsets (Other than Intel Sandy Bridge) the memory voltage may need to be 1.6 Volts or higher to run stable.
So bottom line XMS, Dominator Vs Vengeance is like apple to oranges no way to compare really. And you should go by the memory confirurator for your specific MB.
