To meet the ever higher requirements imbued by professional users and enthusiasts alike, SilverStone created the Strider Gold series power supplies. The Strider Gold models are built on similar platform as the award-winning Strider Plus series but with even higher efficiency ratings.

The Strider Gold series will encompass wattage range from 750W to 1200W for a great variety of applications. In addition to 80 PLUS Gold level efficiency, all models are built to meet very high standards in electrical performance so they have ±3% voltage regulation, ±3% ripple & noise, and high amperage single +12V rail. Other notable features also included are 24/7 40degrees continuous output capability, Japanese capacitors, low-noise 135mm fan, and multiple sets of PCI-E cables. For users looking for a power supply with faultless combination of performance, efficiency, and quality, there is no need to look beyond the Strider Gold Series.

No reviews for the 1200W... anyone got one? How quiet are they?

[edit] Nevermind, I saw the white 1000W SuperFlower in the weekly deals and went with that.

Look ok but rather disappointed by the efficiency ratings considering the market they're aimed at!

1500W I'd want at least gold rating as anything over 800W would be purchased for mining! :o

I've got the 1200W as it was one of the few above 750W PSUs that would fit in my case (the RV03 has a maximum length of 180mm for PSUs). Very impressed with it. Quality feels nice, cables seem decent quality and about the right length, although obviously this depends how large/small your case is.

My PC pulls 700W-800W from the wall under normal gaming, although I can push it to almost 1000W by adding a little voltage to the GPUs and running Sleeping Dogs bench. With my XFX 750W PSU, the air coming off the power supply was noticeably warm and occasionally hot during normal gaming, but with the Silverstone the air doesn't feel any warmer than ambient and is certainly not coming out with any kind of pressure - more a gentle breath of wind. I know it's not fair comparing a PSU that was running 90% of it's rated capacity to one running much lower, but as they were running the same components I feel it's fair enough.

As for noise, I have to crouch next to my PC to hear anything from it at idle, and under load I cannot hear the PSU over my case fans and GPUs - but then with both 180mm intake fans cranked to 100% and reference 290's running at 50%-60% fan speed, it would be VERY worrying if I could hear my PSU over them! :)
