Thanks to the 9.2cm silent fan, massive amount of cool air is drawn from the central fan to cool down the GPU and graphics card directly. 2 heatpipes optimize cooling performance by removing heat from the core area, providing ultimate solution for professional gamers and HTCP users.

IceQ X is one of the quietest coolers. The card is below 28dB when watching movies, surfing Facebook, working. The card is quiet in 2D mode and remains quiet whether you are gaming, online socializing, entertaining or working.

The new architecture of the card gets more usable processing power for your money, enabling better frame rates in the latest games at high resolutions. In addition, with AMD PowerPlay™ & AMD PowerTune technologies, you can optimize the balance between performance and power consumption of your system by adjusting the engine clock during runtime of the card. Hey ubershell, I'm considering a 7850 to replace a 4870 and want something that runs nice and quiet - can you offer any opinions on the coolers of this HIS, the two MSI cards and the Sapphire. They're all pretty close on price with TWO and the TO offers so I'm just looking for the quietest card. Thanks for any help

I have the power edition in my LAN rig, if you dont clock it more than it comes at (and if comes at 950 so a decent OC) its pretty quiet. If you clock it it does get noisy as the fans are quite small but it does keep it cool. The cooler looks awesome as well...

As its a small card the one likely to be the quite is going to be the Gigabyte as they use oversized fans on them that stretch the size of the PCB pretty much....

This one at 160 though is a storming buy, especially with the free games.

Thanks for the insight littlepuppy :^)

Yeah the gigabyte looks like a nice card with the cooler and the OC but it's edging into the 7870 territory in terms of price. The HIS with the single fan might be the quietest option then you reckon?

As its clocked a bit lower - and is custom, I would not expect it to be a noisy card.... (the HIS that is)

You can probably chuck 100mhz on it if you want without really affecting it...

HOWEVER ;)

If I was buying today I would prob go for this 7850 - its lower priced and the cooler looks better to me!

Only 7 in stock though

If you can stretch to a bit more I would personally go for this one still keeping it under 200 quid and giving that bit more power....

However for 155 that 7850 looks pretty unbeatable to me..

Damn, that is one crazy price. A card that will overclock to close to 7950 speeds for £159 ! Had AMD come in with these prices initially they could have swallowed the whole market, I really don't understand why companies aren't more aggressive with their pricing from the get go.

Cheers for the advice littlepuppy, I think I might take your advice and go for the Sapphire 7850, and put the money saved towards the Samsung 830 I've been eyeing for a while!
