Silverstone Fortress FT03 Mini Case - Black (SST-FT03B-Mini USB 3.0) @ £99.98 inc VAT

After releasing the ground breaking Fortress FT03 chassis in 2011, SilverStone engineers took on the challenge of making a smaller version to further increase the appeal of this unique computer form factor. Through intelligent planning and reengineering, the engineers were able to create the FT03-MINI, which improves on the simplistic design of the FT03 while reducing the size by 50%. Using 2.5mm thick, sand-blasted and anodized aluminum outer shells with no cable connectors and vents on all four sides to complement an efficient, organized layout, this chassis helps SilverStone to again set new standards in small form factor computers.

The interior of the FT03-MINI utilizes SilverStone’s unique stack effect cooling layout so a Mini-ITX motherboard is mounted in 90 degree rotation to take advantage of hot air’s natural tendency to rise. The FT03-MINI can accommodate graphic cards up to 10”, support one 3.5” and two 2.5” drives, and even entry-level liquid cooling can be installed to satisfy needs of enthusiasts. As the new small form factor chassis addition to the Fortress series, the FT03-MINI is truly a paradigm.

The memory ok for AMD systems? I would have thought so, but just the specs says intel chipset?

It'll be fine, AMD mobos are generally less picky about RAM than Intel. In the early days of DDR3 AMD could take anything from 1.5-1.9V DDR3 (I think) whereas Intel could only take the lower voltage stuff (<1.65V).

WABSP! on the ram anyway. I know you don't need 16gb and I especially don't need that much in my second machine, but at £23 it'd be silly not to buy it. Now, learn how to make ram drives for cache!

Pretty tempted by some more ram. What's the difference between having 8 and 16GB?

Depends on your usage, photo and video editing, rendering etc. will benefit quite a bit whereas gaming not so much.

I run 16GB of Kingston Blue and it's great for my uses, although made basically 0 difference to games performance coming from 4GB.

Stunning price on the ram! I think it 'can' make a difference in some games to get more ram.
What are motherboards like these days with all four ram slots filled?

You should have done this deal after payday, I really need a new bin and this Silverstone one look's perfect. I could have got 16Gb if this was on sale when I got my Greens!
