BF4, has been documented to use more than 2gb vram if using a 1440p monitor.

if using 1080p then 2gb should be plenty (for now)

Indeed, but I'd like to know the performance hit of it. Even Mechwarrior online takes up 1.5GB in my card, but it seems like it is just using "whatever is available".

I don't think anyone has documented any performance hits by having Vram limit hit the maximum?

LOADS...... There's that are 2 years old that can eat 2Gb of VRAM....

And then there's MODS...... Forget texture MODS with 2Gb of VRAM...

And then there's the future to think about...... Do you think 2Gb will last longer then 12 months with the next generation consoles allocating ATLEAST 3Gb to VRAM??

STALKER games tank to single digits.... Crysis can be a stuttery mess.... Running out of BRAM when you card still has grunt left over to horrible and is the sign of an unbalanced GPU.

not that argument again. you see there you go again. I played Crysis on a gtx580 1.5gb and it was fine. I dont play Stalker games so that doesnt count.
No point saying you need more than 2gb VRAM if the games that require it you are never gonna play!

Put it this way check the recommended specs on a game if it has no mention of needing more than 2gb VRAM then.......

And even the recommended specs never mention the resolution. BF3 might want 3GB today, but at 1080p.. I highly doubt it would affect framerates at all. Judging from the other thread it doesn't as people play it just fine.

I really haven't heard of anyone whose crysis actually lags due to Vram.. Its a damn beautiful and heavy game on the GPU's processing though.

Its a good card and VRAM hasnt caused me any problems on BF4 @ 1080P

Only annoying thing is I paid £100 more than that for mine when they came out and that wasnt that long ago, i knew it would drop but i didnt figure this much in this time frame.
