should be, its just that intel requires lower volts and is a 'worst case' and so is stated above. Will work fine @ 1.65v in an amd board too.

They will work fine but I wouldn't recommend them.
The Gold series used to the worst from all of them for me over the years and
maybe it's just bad luck but I'd never buy them again, if you want to buy OCZ make sure
its the platinum or reaper.

Unless you're not gonna do any overclocking at all, then it works fine as a cheap kit at this price it's amazing if you wanna upgrade ur parents p4 to something better.

If im being honest I personally wouldnt even trust the Reapers anymore after the troubles Ive had with them! :(

Still its a great price, and you can always return them if you arent happy!!

Would have snapped up the Patriot at that price a few weeks ago when I was putting together my x58 build but it was just a bit too expensive in comparison with some of the others.

You lot really put me off the OCZ Gold at the time which was at a low price even back then - guess I'll never know if you saved me a lot of hassel or not, but I'll thank you just in case.

Gibbo - how quickly are the Patriots selling. I'm placing the order today for my new build when I get home. Was going to go with the G skill's on offer but these are awefully tempting at that price

Have you tried that set on an AMD system.
Its been on 2 different AMD setups & gives problems with both.

Never had any issues with any other OCZ gold or platinum before.

I have 2 sets of the g.skill and 1 of the patriots, all are trouble free but the g.skil clock better on the both sets, hope that helps

My OCZ gold (12800) do 1600MHz at 1.6V and are very stable. I have not used the 10666 quality however I do not see why they should be worse. Up the volts a little bit to ensure stability.

andy.

The chips under the heat spreader can be completely different from one speed to another.

Thanks BigBruiserAl - Do you think its worth the extra £15 I wont be messing with the RAM hopefully - what have you been able to push your G Skill and Patriot sets to just out of interest?

im in same situation,i already have the 6gb patriot xmp,the question is would i benefit from having 12gb?

I would reckon almost certainly not in the vast majority of scenarios. Although prices are coming down they're hardly at the crazy levels we saw a couple of years ago. Until they drop a lot more I'd hang on to your money as you really won't see enough benfit to justify the outlay.
