From 23 - 25 degree from yesterday, today at the beginning thunderstorm then snow and a lot a lot of rain. Sometimes here really crazy weather. Above a elevation of 1400 meter in some places over 40 cm snow.

What kind of 4x4 is most popular there?

eh eh, I don't know. Anyway for example in Engadin ( all mountains ) people drive with normal car without problems, snow is not cleared from the street, they crush the snow on the ground and sometimes throw a little bit sand.

It's this country (UK) that comes to a standstill when more than 1cm of snow falls

You think we should have the same infrastructure/procedures in place that an Alpine resort at 1400 metres does just for the odd day of snow we get? lol.

Ho ho... actually the comments would suggest it's not the infrastructure and procedures that are the problem... It's the drivers more than most...;)

No I don't.

You think we should be paralysed by light snowfall in Winter in the UK? LOL

I should have known GD need every post spelt out in simple terms for it to be picked up correctly by the pedants

Its all about the driving, the same applies in the snowy states in the US over winter. They get some much more severe weather year after year and their drivers to a damn good job coping.

Us Brits are just terrified by anything more than a light rain shower, shocking.

Cool scenes, OP.

The problem with Brits and snow is that the drivers are split into two camps.

Those that are paralysed with fear by 1cm of snow and either refuse to go out or drive at 3mph.

Those who think they are invincible in their Chelsea tractors and drive the same as they would in the summer. (ie right up someones arse at 90mph)

Awesome pictures. The lightning storm looks amazing I would love to be there to witness it.

Already dreading the December snow in the UK and everything grinding to a halt yet again. Flying out to Sweden the 12th of December this time and flying from Gatwick as Heathrow is just too unreliable. So, I'm hoping.

I have no issues driving in the snow. Growing up on a farm and having to drive in crap conditions including snow covered roads, tracks and hills was just par for the course. The problem is having to deal with the other drivers :(
