Alright guys and gals.

I would like to know what today's equivalent of my old gaming rig would be in today's technology.

The build is as follows :

ASUS AI Lifestyle P5E Deluxe
Intel core duo quad core 2.4ghz Q6600
X2 ATI Radeon HD4850 in crossfire
4GB Ram
750w Modular PSU
120GB Samsund SSD.

Something like an i5 CPU and a couple of nvidia 970s would be equivalent. Not sure about the motherboard - that was quite a high spec at the time was it not? If you're running SLi or Crossfire then you'll need a capable board.

i5 'K' skylake / Devil's Canyon.
ROG / Deluxe motherboard.
GTX770 / R9 390, SLI / XFire.
16GB DDR3 2400MHz / DDR4 3200MHz.
850W / 1000W Platinum / Gold PSU.
500GB SSD.
2TB HDD.

About £1,200-£1500? Maybe a bit more for SLI.

There isn't really a CPU in the same tier today, the i5s are a little under the position the Q6600 used to sit in tier wise and the i7s a bit above.

GPU wise 970s/390s are probably about the spot.

EDIT: As cyanide said in the other thread insurance will probably be offering something in the low end quad core possibly even try and fob you off with an i3 and 750tis or something like that or the financial equivalent.
