Todays little project

Hey guys, just thought I'd post up some pics of what I've been up to today. I fancied a break from revision for a couple of hours and thought I could do with something interesting to do. So I decided to pull my (old and decrepid) pc apart and rebuild it in and around a shoe box .

The front:


You might notice the key on the front, thats wired up to the motherboard and acts as the on/off switch.

Overall:



Retarded idea i know, but I'm quite happy with the result, the fidliest job was getting the insides to hold together while my brother and I were trying to insert cables etc.

Thats about it, just wanted to post my little monstrossity

Why not put it all INSIDE the box, wouldn't that be better, lid off for when its in use to help on temps, lid on for being left idle?

i believe he already has the psu, hdds and optical drive inside and ran out of room.

btw LOL! thought about water cooling it?

Exodus is pretty close to it, the psu had to go out the back so that the atx power connector would reach, its also handier outside for adding extra fans etc. Inside the box is a couple of hdds and the dvd drive, these take up most of the space along with lots of cables. And i would love to watercool it, if i had the cash .

If you were going to watercool it, I'd suggest using an old coke bottle or something to fit in with that look.

How about getting another box with a plastic window so you could see what was inside. Something like a cake box perhaps, and then you'd have cake too! Bonus!

lol I love that idea, I'm actually impressed by how much the temps have dropped, the cpu used to hit 56C + at full load now it doesnt go over 49C purely from taking it out of the case (which already had the side panel off).
