I think mod's should sticky a thread due to amount of problems VM seems to have and people asking if they also experiencing the same issues.

But I suppose "uploading" is my issue today, as well as some general net slow downs.
I can't update FB due the loading icon on the status just cycling around for ages. Photobucket and tinypic wouldn't upload, even uploading direct from an other website. And finally forum posts are taking an age.

Anybody else experiencing these issues today?

I am guessing that you have the Virgin Media Superhub?

I would guess this because I had the Superhub since I am on a 100mb connection.
After having 3 new Superhubs I asked for my modem and router separate again and It was
installed a few days ago and now I don't have any problems at all everything works as it
should.

I even get download speed of upto 17mbps now as well, which is obviously a good thing
but I should only get upto about 12.

All in all Superhub crap.

I actually havn't tried the router "trick."

Shadz, don't think it's the super hub. Just had a look and (it's dark in that cuboard) it's a dakr grey box maybe about three CD boxes stacked ontop of each other in size. And hasn't been replaced in years. But we use our own network hub.

Not had any issues with VM for some time.

On 50MB in ST5 postcode area. I use the Super Hub as modem(as didnt even know it can be used as a router) and seperate wireless routers. SpeedTest website shows 48mbps down and 4.6mbps up which is about what i normally get

Since the R30 update I haven't had a single issue, I even put my superhub in the attic because I don't need to reset it several times a week. So far 20 days without a single wireless or connection issue.

umm crap service in |Bournemouth BH . Had 30 meg for about 6 months - initailly really impressed but the last 4 weeks have been a nightmare lucky if i see 1meg speed.

i had 1 meg speed in 2001 !!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr

And they still take £30 a month off me for the 'service'

Have you actually had anyone out to have a look at it?

Wireless or hard wired?

Tried deactivating antivirus to test? Had a customer today who had Kaspersky for 7 years and a few days ago had massive problems with his broadband. I turned off his antivirus (to test with his permission) and all was fine again. It was trying to scan incoming traffic and causing a massive bottleneck.

Is it just me or is thier network getting hammered? Last week I was able to max out my connection and now i'm lucky to hit 800kbs on my downloads.

Blame the huge influx of students, it creates a huge problem during peak times at the moment in the Poole/Bournemouth area.

I'm on 10Mb/s Virgin, with the AMBIT 256. It is still slow now and again because of high usage and these hubs don't make any difference. I don't see the point of upgrading from a solid & stable connection such as 10Mb/s or 20Mb/s with the Stand-Alone modems, because you will end up getting stuck with the hub or superhub. Which is totally annoying, as it is not what they advertise it as.

Without asking the bill payer (he'll have no idea) how can I find out?
It's Edinburgh east, not sure how VM dish up their areas.
