Hi all,

I'm looking to create a start up rig similar to this:

I've more or less got all the pieces but can't for the life of me get it to work. The Momentary power switch is slightly different to the one in the photo. It has 4 pins but it's like the ones on the switch. Any advise?

Thank you in advanced!

Looks really like short circuit connection for frying something...

If purpose is to start PC don't mix any of indicator led pins into it.
And if purpose isn't that they still don't "belong together".

is it a light up momentary switch and you want it to light up when switched on?
if so drive the switch led from a cable from the psu (you dont need the toggle switch nor power/hdd led connection from the mobo*). I used a molex from the psu, but I soldered another connector (3pin bits and bobs from old fans etc) between that and the switch as the molex is bigger than the hole in the case and wont fit through.
*unless its a weird switch and you want it to flash on hdd access

The way you've wired it up is so the momentary switch won't function until the rocker is flipped, is that what you want ?

If the toggle switch is spdt then the middle terminal is the common one and you'd connect to that and to one or other of the outside pins.

You'd need to link to the anti-vandal switch used as the momentary but usually the 2 or 3 pins in a line are the same (one might be missing on a momentary) as the toggle switch with the middle one usually the common pin and the outside 2 go to the illumination which might or might not require a resistor between it and the power depending on model.

Remove the LEDs and the toggle switch.

Get the momentary switch correctly starting the computer on its own.

Then wire in toggle switch, as Rroff said its likely meant to be middle pole to a side to make a connection.

Still working?

Wire in LEDS.

Thank you all! Im trying to use the toggle to get the power funning and the momentary to power up. I think for now I'll just use the momentary which should work through the 2 pin motherboard cable?

I'll give it a whack and see what happens...
