Anyone needing a new toilet seat, I highly recommended Celmac MDF Toilet Seat White, available from Toolstation.

It has captive fittings, making it a doddle to fit, well made & a excellent finish.
So impress with it, I bought four of them.

I recommend the Neutron soft close quick release toilet seat from amazon, around £25.

I used to have one with Razor Blades in the seat itself.

That's kinda funny. But what if someone put actual blades on there, you wouldn't notice them until it was too late.. That would be the last sitting down you would be doing for a while!

I've got a solid oak one donated by the last person to live here

There about £40 and it looked new so I thought rather than throw it out I should just make sure it's clean

We inherited ours its weighted so it won't stay up....bloody annoying for a standing wee. Need to change it ASAP.

Soft close please or gtfo

. Just don't get them from b and q. They a) are expensive, b) have a low range of adjustment and c) are prone to various build quality issues, more than you might think possible from a simple loo seat.
