Tom Tom maps - how many meg ?

Hi

i have a really dodgy broadband link - thinking of either a Tom Tom XL IQ Routes (uk & roi) or the bigger XXL Europe

looks like i have to download the maps though - anyone advise of how many
meg i'm up against ?

I can only tell you the size of the European ones. They use to be 2GB but they changed last year to 4GB. If you have an older Tomtom, you will have only 2GB space and therefore only be able to download half of Europe. Pretty **** if you want to do a road trip across Europe.

UK & ROI is 1GB for TomTom One's.. it was better when they used SD cards!

looks like i'll get a Tom Tom XL IQ Routes (uk & roi) with traffic plug in - special offer somewhere

so 227.1mb - my 3 dongle should handle that whilst the talk talk internet is a distant memory . . .

p.s. when a tom tom say its a 4.3" screen is that the diagonal (like tvs) or width ?

Downloading from a 3G dongle will incur massive costs wont it unless its on some special tariff or am i wrong here and this only applied to the first lot of dongles that came out (especially if your going for europe aswell at 2 gigs?)

I have a 12 gig for 12 months jobbie

sad reflection on talk talk to be honest that i've had to resort to such methods

i'm only after the uk roi map so 200+ meg
