Tomato & Wireless Problem

Hello all,

I've just installed tomato firmware on my WRT54GL as I was using the standard firmware before but I'm having problems connecting to the network wirelessly.

My PC tries to connect but it looks like it's not obtaining an IP address as I can see the wireless connection in the device list within tomato but no IP address is listed next to it.

I've literally changed the password for tomato and setup a WEP key but have changed nothing else. Is there something that I should've ticked to enable wireless? DHCP server is ticked.

Thanks for any help,

Slime

Do share how you fixed it. It might help someone else...

Also, WEP's useless for security. You want WPA at a minimum (it's not worth the hassle of setting up MAC address filtering though) or it's barely worth bothering at all.

Out of interest why do you say MAC filtering is not worth the hassle ?

It offers no real security (MAC addresses are easy to spoof and the filtering doesn't protect what you transfer over the network) and is a major PITA if you connect a new device.
