Howdy,

I'm sure many of oyu have downloaded the TRA demo, and many of you must play it with a pad right? Well I do, and I have a issue with it?

Not sure if this problem occurs when using a 360 pad on the demo of anniversary, but it certainly happens on my Logitech ChillStream pad, and in the Gamepad menu is displays as a 360 pad, so I am assuming the same may occur?

Its a problem with the trigger (right or left, depending on what one I set it to) when I shoot the guns, the trigger has to be pressed ALL the way down, and has to come all the way back up again before it recognises another shot? Its really annoying, and can mean the difference between dying and not dying.

Does anyone else have this problem with either of these pads? Have you fixed it at all? If so how?

Any help appreciated!

I've resisted the temptation to download the demo, as I plan on buying the game on Friday. I will be using a 360 controller, so if you've not found out by then, I'll let you know.

Ok cool, please let me know!

You got the wired 360 pad? Or you got the MS crossfire thingy that lets you use the wireless 360 pad? I was considering getting the crossfire thing, but dont fancy having to reconnect my pad to my 360 everytime I use it on the PC.

let me know how you get on, i think its actually the pad thats at fault, as the trigger buttons are too springy on this, so requires more of a push that the 360 pad. I installed a 3rd party driver that is for the 360 pad, and it changes the triggers to buttons according to windows opposed to analogue triggers, I thought that would have fixed it but it hasnt!

And I have just realised, its not the fact that the button sneeds to be pressed all the way down then all the way up again, its actually doesn't like being pressed to quickly, when in this game thats impossible to not do without dying.

So if I pressed the right trigger too quick it will only fire of one round... its actually unplayable!

So I have just ordered the crossfire dongle thingy to hook up my wireless 360 pad too, gonna give that ago (it was only £11), if it dont work with the 360 pad, then I know its a prob with the game not responding quick enough and Eidos will have to fix, and Im sure im wont be the only one using a 360 pad with the game!

Does the game still stick with the 'rotate and press forward' control mechanics of TR 1 and 2 (it's been a long time since I played the series)? The control method pretty much spoiled it for me (in the same way that it spoils it for the Resident Evil series).

The game is at fault - I tried playing it on a 360 wired controller, and had the same problem. Mapping a digital control to an analogue trigger was a daft move on their part anyway... either remap it, or play using keyboard/mouse (what I did ;) )

Using an Xbox360 pad here with the demo. Works fine :/
The top triggers are set to shooting, and the back trigger is bring up the inventory, so having to completely depress it isn't a problem.

No its uses the Tomb Raider : Legend engine, so movement is much more fluid, Prince of Persia like.

Can you clarify PinkFloyd, do you mean you have the top shoulder BUTTONS set to shoot, and the triggers set to open inventory? That don't sound right? Surely you havent got the triggers to open up the inventory?

So RB and LB are shoot? And not RT and LT?

Played the demo last night with my wired x360 controller, and it worked fine. Exactly the same as Legend did on the 360. Shooting is not a problem with the triggers. You just hold it down to continuously fire your gun, no need to press and let go each shot.

I didn't play the whole demo, because I don't want to spoil the game, but what I did play was great. Graphics look very nice, too. Had it set to 1680x1050 with everything maxed out, and 16x AA, and it was as smooth as butter :D

Unlike the previous ones this isn't a direct console port it would seem. The controls seem far more suited to the keyboard and mouse combo than my gamepad.

hmm you sure we are talking bout Anniversay on the PC here? I'm sure one of the known changes with the game was the fact you couldnt hold down the button to fire, you had to keep pressing it... many people where complaining bout it? im confused?

I just got my xbox 360 crossfire receiver and i have just used my 360 pad with the game, the reaction is much better than the chillstream, but there is sitll a slight delay, so it leads me to believe the makers need to do a tweak or two to the game.

Annoyingly, my copy of TRA should have also come today, but never did, I have ordered 100's or preorders from this e-retailer and they have ALL come on the thurs, apart from COD2 which never come on the Thurs... and it never ever showed up at all, had to get a replacement. So I am natuarally thinking the same has happened :(

Sorry for hijacking the thread but does anyone know if you can map the up/down arrows to the wasd controls?
Yes I'm one of them :o

Yep it happens with my wired 360 pad as well :( . Also this game is nothing like TR1 but better than TRL so i think i might buy it.

Got the full retail version today in the post and the controller issue seems to be gone which was in the demo.

I am using an x360 wireless controller and it works perfectly.

However, have noticed a new issue which is that it is very hard to get the right balance between contrast/brightness and so far have not been able to do so so now my eyes are hurting bad due to the games colour scheme.

I hope so, I just got my copy thru the post today aswell, I will install it later after I have finished working and see. I have the chillstream and the wireless crossfire receiver, so can use my chiulstream and 360 pad... Ill try both and see if its fixed on both of them.
