Tomb Raider Legends Screenshots 360

Does look very nice, not ground breaking graphics wise. Saw quite a bit of it when i was working at Eidos. Hopefully it will be a good game.

I wouldn't say it looked that nice, it's beginning to look like a PS2 port. Let's hope the gameplay saves it (but going by recent Tomb Raider titles that's unlikeley)

ps2 port? you having a laugh?

Its not a ps2 port. The xbox 360 version wont be released at the same time as the other formats. This is taken from tombraiderchronicles website:

"Lara's character features 24 MBs of textures alone and it contains 12 times the texture memory capable on the PS2. She's comprised of 20,000 polygons - so her model is entirely re-done from the ground up on Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version delivers 480p and 720p, widescreen and full Dolby 5.1 surround sound.

"Tomb Raider Legend on Xbox 360 boasts Normal Mapping, Specular Mapping, Diffuse Mapping, and special shaders. It's got Fernel Shader, an effect that shows off lighting effects when a light is shown behind Lara and highlights her shoulders, hips and other edges. She even has self-shadowing, meaning that when a beam of sunlight shines across her arm, her arm will cast a realtime shadow across her body. "And to top off the geek list of tech terms, the game delivers ambient occlusion: so that even when Lara is hiding in the shadows, the normal mapping still functions properly, showing off consistent highlights, shadows and skin and cloth surfaces."

reminds me of the fmv from the original tomb raider game.. what a great game that was - totally immersive for me, alas I never completed another one after it..

Hope the gameplay on this one has advanced as much as the graphics :)

4th picture, second batch. Look at the rock on the top left, if that's not PS2 quality texturing then I don't know what is. It sounds like they've kept the core graphics, tarted up Lara's character and added some spangly lighting, the phrase "polishing a turd" springs to mind.

Looks like its the PS2 levels, with some normal maps, some posh lighting, and a new Lara model. Having said that, those extras don't exactly add a 'little' to the game graphics-wise, add in HD and it will look much better than the PS2 version. Cross-platform games, unfortunately have to cater for the lowest common denominator. You can tart it up for a faster console, but not spend too long doing that (starts to become cost prohibitive).

I think thats the XBox version, not the 360 version. Thats what the titles seem to suggest.

I've watched a few videos of the 360 version running and it looks fantastic in motion if you ask me :)
