demo available on a fan remake of TR2.

Installation steps to play Tomb Raider Dagger Of The Xian in VR on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets:

1. Download and extract the zip file.
2. Create a shortcut of the exe on your desktop.
3. Go to shortcut properties and add -vr to the end of the target. (Make sure to have a space between the target and -vr)

Notes: Game menu is glitchy/zoomed so hit enter until it loads up the game. Hopefully the menus will be fixed in upcoming versions. Cutscenes and popup text are a bit buggy as well for now. If you want to change any game options before playing, start the game without VR mode active, edit options, close game and start up in VR mode again.

Certainly shows off how good a 3rd person game can look in VR, moreso than a lot of released titles. Worth checking out if you've got your VR legs, but if you get sim sick easily, you might want to avoid it.

Has anyone had the issue where launching the game it opens the Oculus home software automatically even when -vr option on the shortcut has not been set?

Bloody annoying as I can't get sound through my PC headphones as it comes out of the rift due to home launching!

Also I can't for the life of me figure out how to drop down and grab on to a ledge without falling to my doom?! This is coming from a person who completed TR1 on the PS1 back in the day, oh the shame!

I had to kill Oculus rpcesses in Task Manager to get sound through my speakers.

As for grabbing ledges, turn on autograb in the menu or assign a button to manual grab (I did this for L1 button on xbox pad)

Thanks Borsch, yeah killing the Oculus process sorted the sound issue.

In regards to the ledge grabbing it was just me being stupid, trying to go a route where Lara could not go so wouldn't of grabbed anyway... doh!

Really enjoyed it, so nice to not have any hand holding on the traversing like you do with the uncharted games these days along with having no hints on where to go.

I do hope they make a full release out of it if possible but think it could take an extremely long time!

Finally tried it in VR and have to say that you definitely need to build your VR legs first, I started to feel a little bit sick for the first itme in weeks after an hour in this. Very cool experience though, highly recommended, even if it feels a little bit morally wrong to be looking at 3d full size Lara :p
