Steam are having a sale on Tomb Raider games:

Tomb Raider Legend - £2.71
Tomb Raider Anniversary - £3.39
Tomb Raider Underworld - £3.39

Which would you buy/which is your favourite?

I'm having trouble deciding which one to buy.

The new ones are ok but nothing amazing.

Anniversary is exceptionally good. It is a remake of Tomb Raider 1.

iirc the only one that the 360 pad works with is Underworld, which carries on the story from a previous Tomb Raider (I forgot the name of it).

All three of them work fine with the xbox pad, but the controls are clunkier as the earlier the game is.

Underworld is the best.
Anniversary is also good, but probably best if you remember the first one.
Legend is more dated.

Just played through Underworld and Anniversary a couple of weeks back.

Interesting, I like Anniversary, but my fond memories of TR1 made it a bit odd to play. Hadn't considered Underworld because of all the superfluous things that made TR2/3 worse than 1 back in the early days

I got underworld and I am running the nude patch. Yes it is a little bit sad, no I don't live on my own. Married with kids.

:)

Its all fun, but underworld seems a great little game.

They got into their stride with Underworld, it's the only one of the three that can hold up to Uncharted 2 (and it falls a good way short). Like I said, the remake of TR1 has some nostalgia factor that helps it (and is slicker than Legend which is a bit clunky feeling)

All 3 are excellent & all 3 also support the 360 controller natively wired or wireless it works fine although on Legend you may need to enable it in the main menu the others auto detect usually.

Legend still looks good in places today & all 3 games have so many collectibles/secrets you will get a lot of gameplay time out of them.
