Tommy Burns dead.

Former Celtic manager Tommy Burns who was a current first team coach has lost his fight with cancer in the early hours of this morning. More news expected from the club later this morning.

RIP Tommy. I prayed you would live through this but it was not to be. Obviously God needs you for his first eleven. You were a great servant to Celtic and you will be sadly missed. A true legend.

Celtic legend Tommy Burns has passed away after fighting cancer, my thoughts go to his wife and family at this time

I had the pleasure of meeting Tommy on more than a few occasions when i was at Primary School. He'd visit every month or so with the local priest who was a good friend of his when he was a Celtic player. He also got my Primary 7 class entry to 4 matches. Which was simply immense for me. The guy was probably one of the nicest people to come out of Scottish Football. Although he never managed to break Rangers stranglehold on the League as his time as manager, he certainly had Celtic playing the best football i have ever seen them play in my time so far.
