Is anybody elses power lead (plugging into desktop dock/cradle) a bit loose and always needs a tweak in for the TomTom to charge? Or, do I have a problem with my individual unit?

Mine's fine. I have more problems with the dock itself. A big bump in the road can jolt the Tomtom upwards enough to cut the power and it doesn't come back on until I fiddle with it.

Just browsing TomTom and notice:
TomTom has determined that a limited number of windscreen dock included with the initial shipments of the TomTom GO 910, TomTom GO 710 and TomTom GO 510 do not perform to the standards we set for our products. These mounts can result in a loose power connection or in the device drooping. As a customer-oriented organisation, we take feedback from our customers very seriously. As a result, we have made a number of modifications to the windscreen dock to make sure it lives up to customers’ expectations. Any customers experiencing difficulties with their windscreen dock can order an optimised windscreen dock free of charge (no shipping costs) via www.tomtom.com/newdock. They will be asked to enter the serial number of the TomTom GO device and a shipping address. TomTom will ship a new windscreen dock to within 10 working days. Customers that have any further queries, problems or concerns are advised to contact the TomTom customer support department.

I just updated the firmware on my TT510 as apparently they've made it so it doesn't turn itself off when the power gets tripped off and on momentarily.

How do you go about updating the firmware ? Do you have to use that TomTom Go software ?

Thanks for the tip about the new mounts - just ordered one for my 510! Woohoo
