TomTom Car Kit Woes

Well got the app and the car kit but my Iphone 4 with IOS5 just won't see the cradle. I've had the cradle swapped out and it's still the same.

Any ideas? Oh and FYI I've added the Iphone adapter onto the cradle.

Have you installed the TomTom helper app?

If you mean the TomTom cradle app then yes and it's showing no dock connectivity or GPS lock.

Does the iPhone indicate it's charging and have you paired the iPhone to the cradle using Bluetooth?

If the phone isn't charging, just try adding a small shim between the phone and the little stick on adaptor.

Nope, not charging.

I've tried adding a piece of paper to no avail. Annoyed tbh!

Do you mean the iPhone 4 adapter?

I've not got it fitted myself, I've been using a piece of folded paper since I upgraded my 3g to a 4s. I've found that even with my bit of folded paper it's still a bit temperamental so it's possible that even with the official adapter, it might not be quite enough for a proper connection.

It only takes a small change to the phones dimensions to stop that cradle working, I had a stick on 'bumper' around my phone and had to remove the parts at the top and bottom otherwise it just wouldn't fit properly.
