tomtom car kit - worth it ?

Hi,

Got an iphone 4 and saw they now have the tomtom car kit for £40.

Worth it for this money ? Reading around the GPS is better on the iphone 4 anyway, so not sure what else i'll be paying for ?

Is the speak phone any good ?

I use my iPhone 4 with TomTom from the App Store all the time without a problem. Waste of money buying the kit, in my opinion.

It's totally replaced my £400 TomTom sat nav I bought about 4 years ago.

Last I saw the Apple Store was selling it for £99!

I would say it was a waste of money - TomTom works fine without the car kit (GPS wise) - Just buy a cheapy phone holder and you're all set

For £40 it's an absolute steal, just make sure it's not the one for the iPod Touch because it's different. I bought one when I returned my expensive Garmin for a refund and it's a great cradle. Yes it's expensive but it looks the part and for me the convenience of having a good cradle attached to a Brodit Pro-Clip with the ability to charge the phone made it a no-brainer.

I would say yes. And it also works with other sat nav apps I think.
