Tomtom maps and N73

Got my SD card this morning so have been trying to get tomtom working for the past 2 hours or so now, gettin a bit mad, finally got the program on but cant get it to recognise the maps. The instructions I had said to just "Use any map which is already released for PPC and place in root of your memory card." My map (UK and WE) is 29 files and 290mb. I put them in the root of my memory card and I just keep getting no maps found error message.

I then got tomtom home from their website and installed that but it said it could not find a compatible tomtom device so that ruled that out.

Anyone know how to do this?

You put them in a folder in the root directory?

no I put them in the root directory. Is it sposed to be just one file or several? Cos I have 29

Mine are all in a directory in the root, try that

tried that, put them in a directory in the root called Western_Europe-Map as I was instructed to somewhere else, that didnt work, then changed it to just map and that hasnt worked either. I dont even know if I have the right files yet, these are the filenames I have:

Just looked at the files I have on my pocket pc and there seems to be another file called GB_plus_Major_roads_of_WE as there are three of them. I dont have any of the Safety_Cam_UK ones either but have loads called POCKET_GPS_UK and POCKET_GPS_EUROPE. This is on Tomtom Navigator 6
