Hi

I bought one of these units today.
I've used it a couple of times to get familiar with it and it's great.
I like to simple to use interface.

However, i find the user manual absolutely rubbish. To be fair though the Tomtom is so easy to use that you dont need to look at the manual but i just need a couple of questions to be answered.

1. When charging the TomTom via the USB cable it doesnt say on the unit that is charging.
All i can see on the screen is a picture of the tomtom with the usb lead connected to it.
Does this mean it is charging ?

2. How long does the battery normally last for?

3. How often are updates available to download? I have updated my unit since buying it.

Thanks

1. You don't need to be "connected" to the software, just have the usb lead in the unit and the green LED on the top should come on, this is charging.

2. Not a clue, i use the in-car charger with mine.

3. Not heard of any updates, the new map packs need paying for (ker-CHING!)

1.) If you turn the TT unit off and plug the USB cable in then the LED light will illuminate to show it is charging. Alternatively with the unit on if you tap the bottom right hand corner of the screen which opens the 'About' screen it will say 'Charging' by the battery icon.

2.) The battery in my experience last around 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

3.) There's no specific pattern but it averages every 3-5 months for updates to appear.

The latest map still has a large chunk of the A10 missing , I think it's only been open for at least 3 years

What the hell are you guys doing to kill your TomTom batteries so quickly? Easily got three hours out of my TomTom One V2 and I recon I could have got close to four judging by the battery meter.
