My mum has a tomtom one.

Recently she somehow lost the SD card. Luckily it was found in the bottom of her handbag but it got me thinking - if she did lose the SD card with all the maps, etc on it.

How would i get a replacement?

How much would it cost?

Any ideas?

The same way you'd get a new peice of software after losing the CD, or a new DVD having lost the old one.... most likely have to buy it again I'm afraid.

I can't see them sending them out for nothing, otherwise everyone would be "losing" them and then "finding" them and putting them on eBay or something

oh, if it's that easy then i'll do it now!
I don't know.

But if it is just an SD card I cannot see why you cannot copy the contents to a DVDR or your HDD for backup.

It's easy to back up.

Plug the TomTom in with the USB lead that comes with it, it'll mount on your desktop (or in My Computer or whatever on Windows :p ), then select all the files, and drag them into a folder somewhere on your computer.

It's just a standard SD card, I've got a Crucial 256mb one in my TomTom so I have more space for the POI's (the standard card's 128mb and there's only about 5mb of free space on it).
