My TomTom (520) doesn't make an audible alerts when I go past speed cameras any more, I'm sure it used to, how can I make it make a noise when I approach one?
Is there a way to make the alerts more visible? My old RoadAngel used to flash the entire screen but TomTom just has a tiny little icon which is barely noticable.

If I buy the new Maps/Speed Cam database will I be able to update more than one TomTom with them? Or do I have to purchase extra copies, 1 for each device?

Thanks

I'm currently waiting for my Tom Tom 730 to arrive.
I believe there was an issue with audible alerts after the last Tom Tom update - people had reported similar.
Try a Google search on the problem, I'm sure there is a fix out there.

When you buy maps for a Tom Tom you are paying to upgrade the maps for that device - its a map upgrade payment per device.

Thanks stoofa. About the maps, is it not possible to just copy the new maps from one SD card to another.. or is that against the rules? :p

on my go 730 at least the alerts will only show up if your doing at least 60% of the limit.
Much better to subscribe to the pocketgps database and have proper spoken alerts, that covers 4 devices if i recall.

Yea I was thinking about pgps, from what I've head its the best? TomTom camera updates just seemed much less time consuming & easier to do - plug in & sync.

They are tied somehow to the device. There is a way around it (a fixer tool) apparently, but obviously that's against the T&Cs and would be piracy ;)
