TomTom for UK & Ireland - 241MB

Saw it in Itunes Store for only £59.99 which is much lower than I expected :)

That is not a bad price actually.

But then I just seen Co-Pilot on there also for less than half the price of Tomtom!

£25.99! (UK maps)

It appears that it's not going to be straightforward to add custom POIs, voices and icons unless the phone is jailbroken so I won't be getting it just yet.

How does multitasking work - will it exit tomtom if the call comes through or...?

I was going to hang back and wait for this, but Co-Pilot at 26 quid was too tempting. Absolutely fantastic app, well worth the money.

Co-Pilot is an excellent Sat-Nav app even though it has a few bugs which should be resolved over time, I've heard an update for Co-Pilot is planned for release in the next couple of weeks which will add speed cameras, qwerty keyboard and lots more.

Tomtom looks like a more finished App hence the delay in release and the higher price.

I could never justify spending £60 on a Iphone app, A lot of people are going to be tied down to the Iphone due to the amount of apps they have purchased.

Is it just me who cant see the mounts available anywhere?

As if the pre-release prices of £115 for the mount+software is true, then it'd make more sence to wait for the mount...

I'm waiting for the mount, which should solve a couple of problems for me. Certainly looks polished and responsive.

Not that I can see, although the TomTom iPhone car kit is rumored to cost £113.85 (with maps)

Also, I'd just like to say "I told you so", as the apps closes when you get a call. That's pretty much ended it for me :p

Agree. There are maybe three to four milestone applications OS's and smart devices have to go through in their lifetime of the "make it or break it" type, and Tomtom, is definitely that kind of event - £420 device that can double as sat nav suddenly opens new door and doesn't look as big of a rip off as when it was just a walkman with awkwardly put together phoning solution. This was that moment - the one case when Apple should have participate and and let the nav take priority. A phone that stops your journey. What the hell were they thinking.

I hope it doesn't stop on SMS?

You can't drive and call anyway unless your hands free :p

But TBH, I manage to get where im going using maps and GPS with my iPhone so £60 is WAY too much compared to spending 5 mins learning your route and then checking it every 5 mins as you get closer.

Far too much IMO.

Hang on, are you saying that while on a phonecall, you can't see the sat-nav anymore?

surely the call will just shrink to the top bar as if you press the home button while in a call?
