I am thinking of getting a Tomtom Go 1005 to replace my Go 910.
Having looked into it i see that they are supplied with one years subscription to their "live" service. If i ws to buy one can the service be activated at any time or is this an automatic thing when the unit is powered up.

For example if i bought one today but did not use it for say the next three months will i be losing out on three months live service.

i believe its from activation

but you active it when you turn it on to start setting it up.

You'll be fine to leave it in the box for 3 months, but you won't be able to use it for 3 months and not activate the services.

Least thats how i remember my 1 years free traffic + speed camera updates being.

Ts from 1st power on as it connects to the Internet at that stage. That's when my 1000 did it and since the recent map and software updates the things has been brilliant.
