it might be that the target temperature in the bios is too low. i have literally no idea how to change that, but it sounds like its trying to cool it down more than its realistically able to. however, no matter what you do your still going to have a super noisy fan under load, so if the volume is bugging you the only solution is forking out for a new cooler. i spent £36 on mine, and it was worth every penny

you was right mate

the target was set well low lol

changed a few settings and all is running cool and quiet

going to do an 1 hour run in prime95 and make sure what ive done is stableish lol

thanks for your help fella i appreciate it

:)

i cant remember the exact numbers mate ill have to go back into the bios

the vcore was set too high also

so i undervolted and all is well (so far :L)

vcore is generally 1.35V for phenoms, but i know going lower than that is perfectly fine for most chips

i really ought to overclock my PC soon, as my sig has been sat at stock speeds with a massive cooler for ages

what cooler do you have mate?

care to share a link :)

ive decided to buy a new case and unsure what cooling soloution to go for
