Too human?

Any tips? I'm spending more time dying than I am fighting

What class are you?

I've managed the 1st and 4th chapter without dying and have done the 2nd and 3rd only dying once.

Take your time.
Use lasers (they slow your enemies) or another range weapon and walk backwards to kill without getting swamped.
Roll to get to missile launchers, ranged weapon enemies and kill them early when you can.

Keep dying. Really frustrating game. Especially near the end you seem to just die all the time.
