Ive had my monitor for around 7-8 years now. Ive got a few dead pixels hanging around so time for upgrade. looking for some thing around 28'' mines a 25.5''
It's a asus VW266H
One question
is a super/ultra wide monitor really worth saving the extra and going all out. it will be wall mounted.
Am after a 1440. not 4k as am only running 1 asus 1080 strix

1440 is definitely the sweet spot for gaming at the moment. Higher resolution than 1080 without the steep hardware requirements of 4k.

Ultrawide certainly gives an extra dimension of immersion when gaming too.

Just depends how much you are prepared to spend.

Why steep hardware requirements? One can always adjust the in-game visual settings up to their liking. Be it Ultra High settings at 1440p or Very High or High at 2160p.
I'd definitely prefer 4K with the option to lower the graphics beauties to some limited extent.

There is a very cheap 28" LED 4K monitor from SWEDX for 150ish EUR. Check it out.
