So I have 16 games not installed yet thanks to Xmas pressies and the Steam sales:

Mafia II
Cryostasis
Crysis Warhead
Far Cry 2
FEAR 2
Metro 2033
Europa Universalis III
X3 plus expansions
Resident Evil 5
Just Cause 2
Heroes of Might and Magic V Gold
Assassin's Creed II
Fallout New Vegas
Mount and Blade
Hearts of Iron III
Men of War

Just finished (and thoroughly enjoyed Batman AA). What next?!

I really can't decide... just keep looking at the boxes or the Steam pages...

Help resolve my paralysis!

Just Cause 2 for just messing around
Metro 2033 to remind you just how out of date your machine is lol
and assassins creed II just because it's a great game.

Have you played borderlands yet ? fantastic game.
get goty edition and borderlands advanced config.

:) Thanks. I am kind of curious how my rig could handle Metro. Will put ACII and JC2 to the top of list, then, I think.

Definitely like the idea of Italian with subs too. Sounds like it would be more atmospheric. I'm surprised that's an option, though. Nice touch.

stop playing games?

Huh? Didn't you see, man, the problem is I need to start playing more games! How am I going to get through this backlog if I stop, huh?

Really!

:)

Yes, played it and enjoyed it. Played the expansions too, but got bored by General Knoxx. May go back to it one day...

Edit: Oh... there's GTA: Episodes as well. I completely forgot that one. All these games either still in their shrink-wrap or waiting to d/l on Steam...

Pick two and alternate between them, stick to this plan and you'll be good. Currently playing The Witcher and Crysis, two worlds apart but both are really good.

If you have just finished Batman then you'll slip into another 3rd person game.

From that random list - it's got to be Just Cause 2 ;)

Ever played any MMO'S they swallow your life

I only play Eve and WOW I have barely have time for those

Oh God, I used to play WoW, but quit about 2 years ago after losing too much time to it. My wife still refers to it, darkly, as "that games you used to play". Had a 60 orc hunter, did a few raids, got tier 1 gear and then saw the light! Glad to be clean.

Gonna be super-hard to resist The Old Republic, though...

Mafia II, because it's short.

Is it? Ahh... that's a bit disappointing. I was hoping it would be a GTA-length free-world romp with a Mafia setting.

Yeah. Installing Just Cause 2 now. Looking forward to it.

Reckon I'll get ACII and Mafia II on my system as well and flick between them.

God knows when I'll get round to the others. With Deus Ex 3, Diablo 3, The Witcher 2, Portal 2, Dungeon Siege 3, Warhammer 40k games and expansions coming this year... I'm gonna have to use some willpower...

You might play something else at the same time as JC2. It's very much a short-session type of game. Load it up, do a mission or two, blow some stuff up then go play something else. I've logged over 30 hours on it, but rarely play for more than an hour at a time.

It'd go well with resident evil 5: another very good game which I usually play for short sessions. Some of those games like x3 and new vegas will take over your life, but RE5 and JC2 are great for casual sessions.

Ignore FC2, its not good. Its like someone thought up Just Cause 2 but then thought 'no theres too much colour and fun in this game'.

I would suggest Mafia 2 to get you into the swing of things. Its got a good story and isnt too long or taxing. It allows for some messing about a la GTA (although tries to keep you on the rails). After this I would suggest JC2 for some fun exploration and destruction, when your attention starts to wane then start something with an actual story and refere back to JC2 when you just want so no strings carnage in between. After this its all down to what type of game you fancy.

Cryostasis is supposed to be quite the hidden gem. Like a sub zero condemned - keep meaning to have a look into it myself. Could be worth an early dabble.

I'm afraid I can only narrow it down to either Mafia 2, Resident Evil 5, Crysis Warhead, Metro 2033, Fear 2 or New Vegas. Depends whether or not you fancy a break from third person games or not.

Crysostasis is quite good, I'm playing it now though it does make your system work hard.

I'd recommend fallout new vegas out of all of them to start with, you'll know if it's your type of game within an hour or so.

Well, got JC2, AC2 and Mafia II installed now.

First play was Mafia II, and quite liked the story and the environment.

I was a huge fan of FO3, but kind of feel like the 100 hours I sank into that have sated my appetite for that at the moment.

Looking forward to trying JC2 and AC2 over the next few days to see how they grab me.

Far too many games bought in the Steam sales. And yet, I know that I'll do exactly the same thing in the next sales...

all I'm saying is that is a pretty good selection of games from a variety of genres. You'd have to be mad not to absolutely love a few of them at least!

I'd suggest what buchtis suggested, don't play more than two a time!
