Too much thermal compound?

Real Temp, PC Probe 2 and speed fan all show similar core temps, motherboard temps and CPU temps.

Just wondered if the difference between core temps and cpu temp is normal or is this caused by too much thermal compound?
Never monitored temps in the past nor used thermal compound.

(CPU-Z is there to just show its a stock 920 chip)

They're different readings, use core temp readings.

Will always be different between cores too, under 6 or 7C don't worry.

You need to use real temp 2.90 or higher for i7's or you get funny readings.

woops sorry about the small pic.

=) The new real temp and core temp show exactly the same results.

At idle cores range from 32 to 38C so I think I'll stop worrying about the temps for now.
